  • Qualify for additional discounts - Applicant must be claims-free for over 5 years, and an experienced owner/operator, over the age of 50, or have boating education such as Canadian Yacht Association or Canadian Power and Sail Squadron.
  • Need a vessel survey - To insure your boat, you may need a survey to determine its condition and valuation. An out of water survey are required for boats 15 years of age or over, and a new survey every 5 years thereafter.  View our list of surveyors who are Underwriter approved in our Support section.

Insurance Coverage You Will Receive:

  • Annual Policy with No Lay Up Warranty – Why should someone dictate to you when you can use your boat?
  • Your All Risks Harbour Insurance policy will cover your Hull & Machinery against various perils including underwater damage should you strike a submerged object.
  • Experienced Boater Discounts if you are an Experienced boater, Claims free and a member of Power Squadron or the Canadian Yachting Association.
  • Agreed Value Coverage – We pay the Limit of Coverage shown on the Declaration Page if the Vessel is a total loss. No deductible is applied.
  • Coverage for Partial Losses – We pay the cost to repair or replace with materials of like kind and quality with no depreciation applied to your vessel and equipment.
  • Personal Effects Coverage ($2,000) – Protect your personal contents on board. As we are 1st Payer, you do not have to make a claim through your home insurance.
  • Emergency Expense ($1,000) – We offer you towing and assistance in the event of a mechanical failure or if you run out of fuel. Using this will not affect your claims free status.
  • Southern Navigation Option– With our Extended Southern Navigation Coverage, Canadians are now free to set sail and head south!

Note: We will not pay for loss as a result of the following defects or conditions: faulty design, faulty workmanship, the installation or use of improper or defective materials, wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or corrosion. In no case will we pay the cost to repair or replace the part or parts possessing the defect or condition.

Get Additional Coverage for vessels valued over $100,000 at no additional premium. 

The following enhanced coverage is included at no additional cost:

  • Personal Effects ($10,000) – The amount of insurance is increased to $10,000. A policy deductible of $500 will apply.
  • Reimbursement of Emergency Expenses ($5,000) – The amount of insurance is increased to $5,000.
  • Search and Rescue ($5,000) - We will pay up to $5,000 for the reasonable expenses incurred for  search-and-rescue operations in the event any person is lost at sea from the Insured Vessel.
  • Loss of Use – If the Insured Vessel is damaged by an insured peril while you are on holiday, we will pay for a temporary substitute vessel while the Insured Vessel is being repaired up to a maximum limit of $2,500 per occurrence. 

Note: The temporary substitute vessel must be of similar type, value and length. We do not cover temporary substitute vessels for any purpose other than replacing your Insured Vessel whilst it is out of normal use due to an insured loss. We will cover damages a covered person is legally obligated to pay for bodily injury or property damage arising from the maintenance or use of the temporary substitute vessel while your Insured Vessel is being repaired. Vessels Valued Below $100,000 are Still Eligible – Request the an enhancement, on your application form.
